UTC Recognizes HMI for Environmental Excellence HMI has been recognized by its parent company, Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies corporation, for outstanding environmental excellence. HMI is the recipient of UTC's annual Environment Health and Safety award in the category of continuous improvement. The award is open to all operating units of UTC worldwide including it’s Pratt & Whitney, Carrier, Otis and Sikorsky divisions. Steve Finger, Pratt & Whitney president, was in Clayville to present the award. Through a team-based approach, HMI has significantly reduced the resources needed and the waste generated from its production of metal powders. Other accomplishments are a 65% reduction in water consumption and 95% reduction in air emissions over the last six years. |

Back to Basics – Skill Based Training Program This development program for all employees was kicked off in June 2006 and will continue throughout 2006 and into 2007. This program offers developmental opportunities for any employee that wants to learn a new skill and a good basic refresher for some. On site training topics are: welding; hydraulics/pneumatics; electrical; CNC Machining and programmable controllers. Additional training will be offered in other development areas in 2007. |
