Crusaders for Cancer Golf Tournament LogoOn July 24, 2004, 116 golfers plus volunteers participated in the Crusaders for Cancer Golf Tournament at Pine Hills. This annual event is growing larger every year as measured by dollars raised for the American Cancer Society.

HMI held Wellness Day on November 17, 2004. The annual event promotes and educates employees on the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. A Fitness Center and a successful Weight Watchers program provide support for choosing a healthy lifestyle.

The HMI family fielded a corporate team of 30 employees and their family members in the American Heart Association’s “America’s Greatest Heart Run & Walk” on March 5, 2005. The team raised more than $2000 in pledges for the American Heart Association.

The President of Pratt & Whitney, Louis Chenevert, visited HMI on January 21st 2004 in celebration of HMI becoming the first Pratt site to achieve ACE Gold status, the highest level of recognition in Pratt & Whitney’s Continuous Improvement Program known as Achieving Competitive Excellence.

HMI was visited by Congressman Sherwood Boehlert and Michael J. McCulley, President and CEO of United Space Alliance and former NASA Astronaut. They toured the facility and presented HMI with the “Space Shuttle Recognition Award.”
